Whitehaven Wine Company has always had a connection to the sea.  Through its wine label Kōparepare (Maori for gift or contribution) the company now plays a role in the protection, and restoration of New Zealand’s marine environments by donating to LegaSea, an organisation committed to protecting New Zealand’s marine environment.

Since 2018 Whitehaven has donated a total of almost $60,000 to LegaSea.  Whitehaven is again pledging to donate all revenue from Kōparepare sales made between 17 and 30 September 2021, to the LegaSea cause.

The 100% donation will apply to purchases made online at www.koparepare.co.nz between 17-30 September, or at the Whitianga Oceans Festival on 18 September.

The Whitehaven team are excited to bring Kōparepare to the Whitianga Oceans Festival, and look forward to wine sales on the day making a difference to the Coromandel Scallop Restoration Campaign.  Whitehaven will donate 100% of Kōparepare wine sales at the festival on 18 September to the Programme.

After the festival ongoing donations from the sale of Kōparepare wine will continue, with one dollar from every bottle of Kōparepare sold donated to Legasea.

Wine lovers looking to enjoy a quality, award winning wine can purchase Kōparepare wines knowing that the entirety of their purchase will be used to fund marine conservation in New Zealand.  Highly acclaimed – the sold out Kōparepare 2020 Pinot Noir Rosé won Gold at the 2020 Marlborough Wine Show.
